What membership discounts & benefits am I entitled to?
As a member, you get way more benefits than being a part of our wonderful community. Discounts & perks always available for members:
20% military discount on membership tuition
20% family member discounts on membership tuition & introductory trials
10% discount on birthday parties & private events
Discounted private lessons (discount value varies)
One free private lesson or small group workshop a year
One free introductory trial per member (can only be used for current members)
What do I do if I want to try out a new class?
We love when members want to broaden their horizons! Reach out to us via phone or email and tell us which class you would like to try out. Or, if you’re not sure what you want to try, we can help you find the perfect fit. We will set you up with an introductory trial for the new class and you can easily try it out to determine if it will be a good addition. Remember, you get a free intro every year as a member!
I really want to continue classes, but I can’t afford the tuition right now. What are my options?
The Story School is a non-profit organization with many options for financial aid. If you are struggling with paying for our programs, please reach out to us for help. We will do our very best so that you can still enjoy our programs without struggle.
What is available to me as a new member?
If you are just joining The Story School - welcome! You have a ton to look forward to including all of the discounts listed above. In addition, your first three months as a member are considered “open enrollment” meaning that you can try out & attend any other class absolutely free. This is a great benefit to use when you are deciding which classes that you would like to add to your membership when open enrollment ends.

Something came up and I have to miss my class this week. What can I do?
First and most important, let us know that you will be absent if you can, so that your instructor knows not to expect you. You can either make up the class another time during the week with a similar class, letting us know 24 hours in advance so we can alert the instructor, or you can apply for a “Vacation Voucher” through our Membership Change Form (vouchers must be submitted before the missed class).
I will be away for a while and won’t be able to attend classes, what should I do?
If you have to step away from classes for a longer period of time, we have two different options for your membership:
Vacation Voucher: this voucher will give you credit for the classes that you missed during your time away. This credit can be used towards any of our events, merchandise, camp, etc. (cannot be used towards membership tuition). A voucher request must be submitted via Membership Change Form before the start of your time away, and can only be used for a total of 2-months/year.
Temporary Hold: your membership tuition will be decreased to just $25/month (no matter your plan) to keep your membership & spot in the class. This can also be submitted via Membership Change Form and can be used for up to 2-months/year separate from a “Vacation Voucher”.
